The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 107

North Okanagan Legion Poker Run

Rev up your engines and join in with the Chase Legion and other participating Legions from Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Enderby and Armstrong for an annual Poker Run held on a Saturday in July.

Whether you’re riding a motorcycle, driving a classic car, or cruising in your everyday vehicle, everyone is welcome to take part in this exciting day of fun, friendship, and a little friendly competition.

Each Legion has their own activities for the day. At Branch 107 we offer a bite to eat, a day long 50/50, a silent auction table and Poker Run T-Shirts. Our regular Saturday meat, card and 50/50 draws are moved to later in the day to catch those who are riding.

You register and pick up, at any one of the Legions, a sealed envelope(s) for $20. In the envelope is a template containing a standard 52-card deck. Each template is printed with cards set out in a different sequence. Choose your number(s) out of 52 printed on the envelope – depending on how many Legions you plan to visit.

Can’t make the ride? No problem! You can still participate—someone will carry your sealed envelope(s) for you, so you won’t miss your chance to win.

The player with the highest hand wins 50% of the Legion’s registration fees collected (each Legion will have its own winner).

The money collected from the silent auction, day long 50/50 and leftover registration fees goes to charity. Branch 107 has been participating for three years. In 2024 we donated to the Chase and District Health Services Foundation to help purchase medical equipment. In 2025 we chose to donate to the Chase Food Bank and also collected food at the door. This year, the donation went to Chase & Area Family Services.

Dances

Throughout the years, there have been many dances at Branch 107.

Dances have been held on New Years Eve, St. Patrick’s Day, Oktoberfest, and Halloween! Dances have also been part of events such as Legion Week, Darts Banquet and Poker Run. We have enjoyed performances from the Barn Cats, the Jay Vaughan Band, the Serious Dogs and others…

Upcoming dances include:

  • The Fall Zone Meeting Dance on Saturday, October 17th, where we’ll be listening and dancing to “The Serious Dogs”.
  • “Paisley Groove”, a Kamloops band known for playing high-energy 60s and 70s rock, and pop dance music, will be performing this New Year’s Eve.

Stay tuned…and check out the monthly calendars!

Branch 107 serves up hearty, home-style meals at prices that make dining out accessible again.

Thanks to our dedicated volunteers…many with years of experience in the kitchen, you’ll find dishes that delight your palate and your wallet.

Also, when you dine at our Branch, you’re not just enjoying a great meal – you’re supporting a place that gives back to Veterans, their families, and your community.

Come for the meal. Stay for the community.

Legion Week

Each year, the Royal Canadian Legion observes National Legion Week to demonstrate the good work local Legion Branches do in their communities.

National Legion Week also provides a means to reinforce the important role Branches play in our shared mission to serve and support our Veterans.

This year, the Legion observes National Legion Week from September 20th to 26th, and Branch 107 would like to invite everyone to an Open House and Family BBQ on Saturday the 26th between 11:00am and 1:00pm. We will be serving free hot dogs and hamburgers with all the trimmings, as well as ice cream. We’ll also have giveaways for the kids!

Please note that this event will be alcohol-free, although the bar will open after lunch is finished. A responsible adult must accompany all underage youth.

We hope you will drop in to see us on Saturday, September 26th. Thank you for your support!

Paint 'N Sip

Looking for something to do once a month during the fall, winter and spring?

No experience needed — come on out to Paint N Sip at Branch 107 with Merelee Panych. Grab a drink, have a snack, follow along, and leave with a canvas, a wine bottle or even a pumpkin that you’ve painted yourself.

Merelee provides step-by-step instructions to reproduce a selected piece of art. In the past we’ve painted themes, landscapes (including Chase’s beloved landmark, the red pier and wharf), and other – we even had a paint your pet that included cats, dogs, a horse and a pig!

Good times are had by all the participants.

A Paint N Sip is on the calendar for Wednesday, September 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Contact Merelee at panych@hotmail.com to register and/or for more information. Check out our monthly calendars for additional dates.

Variety Show of Hearts

Triple Dart Tourney & Auction

Every February, Branch 107 hosts a triple dart tournament and auction to raise funds to donate to the Variety Show of Hearts Telethon. The funds raised help support children with disabilities and complex health needs across British Columbia through Variety – the Children’s Charity of BC.

Through the dedication of our Sports Chair, and her team of volunteers, this year’s event (after all funds were accounted for) brought in an awesome $7,450.00 to help BC Kids.

Celebrating 100 Years

2026 marks a once-in-a-lifetime milestone: a century of standing with Veterans, strengthening communities, and honouring the memory of those who served.

Founded in 1925 at the Unity Conference, the Legion began with a clear mission — to support Veterans, advocate for their rights, and ensure the act of Remembrance continues. The Legion was officially incorporated on, July 17, 1926, by a special Act of Parliament. It is now recognized as our anniversary.

Branch 107 celebrated The Royal Canadian Legion’s 100th Anniversary on Canada Day! The day started off with the Branch 107 Colour Party participating in the Chase Canada Day Parade, which was followed by a community and area family-oriented Open House and free BBQ hosted at the Branch by our dedicated volunteers.

While everyone was chowing down on hamburgers and hot dogs, and despite the rainy weather, an enthusiastic crowd, was welcomed by our Branch President, Susan Murray, the Mayor of Chase, David Lepsoe, MLA (Kamloops-North Thompson), Ward Stamer, and MP (Kamloops-Shuswap-Central Rockies), Mel Arnold.
