Remembrance Day
The most sacred day of Remembrance is Remembrance Day.
Every year, on November 11th, Branch 107, together with support from the following organizations and partners, recognizes all of Canada’s Veterans, serving and retired, and commemorates our Fallen, including the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP, Peace Officers, Merchant Navy, and Reserves:
- Village of Chase – closure of Shuswap Avenue to vehicle traffic for the Parade, waiving of the Community Hall rental fee for the Ceremony and participation in the Parade.
- Secwepemc Peoples – Parade and Ceremony.
- The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Chase Detachment – Parade and Colour Party.
- Chase Fire & Rescue – Parade and Colour Party.
- 2305 Rocky Mountain Rangers RCACC (Kamloops) – Parade and Colour Party.
- Chase Fire & Rescue – Parade and Colour Party.
- Ceremony: Carmen Miller “O Canada and The Royal Anthem”, Padre Tyler Harper “Prayers”, Sylvia Lewis “First Nations Prayer”, Ivy Chelsea “Song to Honour First Nations Veterans”, Miss Keleigh Duff and Miss Zaria Cash “Reading”; and Branch 107 Members, Dave Smith, Derick Lepine, John Angus, Dan McLean and Lorna Augustine.
- Food service by Branch 107 members and friends.
Poppy Campaign
During the Poppy Campaign (a local initiative), the following businesses provide space for Branch 107’s volunteers to collect donations to support local Veterans and their families:
- Safety Mart (Chase & Scotch Creek), PharmaChoice Food & Drug, Canada Post
Branch 107 members and friends volunteer at the Poppy donation tables, as well as deliver and pick up Poppy donation boxes from Pritchard, to Blind Bay (White Lake), to Celista.
Variety Show of Hearts Dart Tourney & Auction
The following businesses donated auction items to the Variety Show of Hearts Auction:
- Rivershore Golf Links, Phi Hotel Group, H&R Block, Lordco, Pharmachoice and Tag Auto Centre
Auction items were also received from participants in the Dart Tourney and Branch 107 membership.
Al Smith, donated his time as Auctioneer.
$7,450.00 was raised this year to help BC Kids!
Together Chase
Branch 107 has signed on to the Together Chase initiative with other community organizations to affirm our shared commitment to fostering collaboration and community well-being through collective action
It’s amazing how much can be accomplished through dedication, teamwork and community spirit!
North Okanagan Legion Poker Run
The following businesses donated items to the Poker Run’s Silent Auction:
- Eye Candy, Banner Recreation & Marine, TAG Auto Centre, Barnes Harley Davidson (Kamloops), Valley Moto Sport (Kamloops) and Safety Mart
Branch 107 and Chase & Area Family Services volunteers spent the day registering participants, barbequing, preparing & serving food, selling T-Shirts and running the 50/50, meat & card draw events.

Chase Village Remembrance Day WW1 Banners

A project created by the Chase & District Museum & Archives Society Board Members and Curator, Breanne, to commemorate local WW1 veterans, both who died during the war and those who survived and returned. The banners that are hung up annually around Remembrance Day, contain names of veterans who were living in Chase or Shuswap, or were from the Adams Lake Indian Band, Neskonlith Indian Band, or Little Shuswap Indian Band.
These banners were a collaborative project between the Chase & District Museum & Archives Society, the Village of Chase and Branch 107.
Marking of Veteran’s Graves (Chase Cemetery)

Fabricating Ltd. (Kamloops): Donation of metal for use in the fabrication of Veteran’s grave markers. - Mr. Lou Bernier: Donation of time to design and fabricate the Veteran’s grave markers.
Chase Legion Stage
- Interfor Adams Lake Division: Donation of lumber for use in the construction of our stage.
- Dinoflex (Salmon Arm): Donation of rubber matting for use in the construction of our stage.
